In early 2016 I implanted an RFID chip in my left hand. I was utterly obsessed with the quantified self. I wanted to become a machine and analyze my data. After ordering my chip and having it planted in my hand, and programming an application for it. I thought I was changing the world as a new cyborg. Well, I can confirm that adding a whopping 110kb to my body, did in fact not change the world. But it did change something. It changed the way I saw the position of technology towards people. Instead of seeing technology as a glorified toolkit, we made it over the years. I assumed it could extend the human capability to bring good to the planet and each other. This chip sparked a wave of future projects where I applied these renewed values to envision the relationship between us and technology.
